Birth Is A Ceremony with Clare and Abigail
Preparing for your birth is more than gathering information and examining the latest research; it’s also an emotional, somatic, and spiritual preparation. This gathering will discuss the ways we can learn from viewpoints outside of modern, western medicine in order to look at birth as an opportunity for healing and transformation.
Our “Birth is a Ceremony” class is designed for expecting parents and partners, or those who hope to conceive soon, who want to complement their learning from more traditional childbirth education classes in order to bring elements of ritual and ceremony into their labor, no matter where they choose to birth. Birth workers are also welcome.
We will cover:
• Numerous perspectives on birth as opportunity for personal and spiritual transformation and how to integrate these into modern birth experiences
• Preparing for your birth experience not with a step-by-step birth plan, but with deep inner work that addresses unprocessed emotions and limiting beliefs
• Incorporating plants, sound, scent, and breath into your labor to release resistance to the process
• The role of partners, doulas, and beloved friends/family in supporting your birth as your ceremony
This gathering is for all birth settings but is an especially good fit for those that understand birth is more than just a physical process - it is a doorway we walk through that offers immense opportunity for personal growth and transformation. There are two ticket options- come by yourself and receive resources to take home or invite your birth partner to join you. We will sip on some tea and learn from each other around a rose altar set up by Abigail.
Early bird pricing ends Monday, July 28th.
